The specifications of cooling tower packing usually include parameters such as sheet spacing, sheet thickness, corrugation height, length, and width. Taking the commonly used PVC inclined corrugated packing as an example, the common sheet spacing is 20mm, 35mm, etc.; the sheet thickness is generally between 0.3 - 0.6mm; the corrugation height is 30mm, 40mm, etc.; the length and width are determined according to the size and design requirements of the cooling tower, with the length generally around 1 - 2m and the width around 0.5 - 1m.
● PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride): It has good corrosion resistance, water resistance, low cost, and is easy to form into various shapes and structures. It is one of the most widely used materials for cooling tower packing at present.
PP (Polypropylene): It has good temperature resistance and can be used at relatively high temperatures. It also has high strength, rigidity, and excellent chemical stability, but its cost is slightly higher than that of PVC.
● Wood: Such as Korean pine, spruce, etc., which have good hydrophilicity and air permeability, and can effectively promote water heat dissipation. However, wood is prone to rot and bacterial growth, requires regular anti-corrosion treatment, and has a relatively short service life.
● Applications: It is widely used in many industrial and civil cooling towers, especially suitable for places that have certain requirements for cooling effect while the water quality is not particularly ideal, such as cooling towers in some food processing plants and textile factories.
